To be honest, I was holding my breath when I entered the caves of Cureghem.
A little to suspicious to throw myself - without being judgemental - into the first Fetish Festival in Belgium because frankly, it has the same founder as the erotica beurs, which I do-not-like.
But, credit where credit is due, it was fun & warm & nice & lovely.
It's not easy to please both fetishists and BDSM lovers, but the organisers and exhibitors succeeded by being very approchable towards curious visitors, men-with-camera-in-hand-at-all-times and established players.
So we opened shutters and peeked behind curtains to capture it all.
Fetish clothing, stainless steel jewelry, bondage artists, photographers and info stands about BDSM, including workshops. Not to everyone's taste perhaps, but then that's the attraction of a naughty festival.
The party started at midnight with a fashion show. No top models, but girls like you and me in a nice packaging. An extra attention for choreography wouldn't be superfluous though. Same for the performances; a little more preparation might be adequate for smoothing the path of seduction.
But hey, those are teething details. I've seen drag queens, leashed women & men, latex lovers, lesbians, gays, leather & foot fetishists, burlesque girls and little nurses. All in one room, all feeling at ease and comfortable. So in my opinion, that kind of beauty is more than you can wish for on a first edition.
Stay on the scene, because I have the feeling, that this will be even better next year.
